Hoofpik Hanna
back

When this old mare was just a little filly, she used to carry an brokin

pencil and some sketchin paper...she'd fly around everywhere she went

drawin' horses. Now, that she's all growed up, she owns horses and draws

flies!

She got her name followin' an old blacksmith around cleanin' up horses

feet before he went to shoein' em....she used to wear a hookpick around her

neck on a piece of balin' twine so's she wouldn't lose it. The folks in

Dela"where" got to callin her Hoofpik Hanna cause she was a Swede.

Her ma & pa started out as city folks and moved cause it didn't take em

long to find out there was no life west of the Chesapeake. When they got

to God's Country, they tried their luck at farmin'...planted several acres

of Cheerios, but never harvested a single donut! Then they tried chicken

farmin' but kept losin' the bitties cause they were a plantin' em too deep!

They figured that farmin' wasn't for Swedes, so they tried the laundry

business...you guessed it...they lost their shirts!

So, they got their little Prairie Chicken a horse, and a pair of 45's

with some gun leather to tote em in, and sent her off on her own. She

headed straight for Tuckahoe City where she heard the folks were a little

rough, but friendly. She met a whole lotta nice people there; one guy (Aw

Shucks, I can't remember his name) even learned her to dance! Now, if

someone could just learn her to cook, she'd be a mighty good prize!

But, cookin's gonna hafta wait, cause all she wants to do is raise a

ruckus and have fun. Usually, she tries to keep her mouth shut (tighter 'n

a wad of day old chewin tobacco) cause she sometimes talks before her brain

is operatin properly. But, her motto is..."It's OK to put yer foot in yer

mouth once in awhile; just as long as there ain't no sh-- on it!"

So, when you see this Scandanavian Cyclone comin' yer way, you better

hold yer horses or she just might steal em right off'n your picket line!

Or, if'n yer lucky, and if'n she's in a generous mood, she might just clean

their hooves and leave!
